Key Strategies to Reduce Waiting Time in Outpatient Pharmacy

Waiting time in the outpatient pharmacy is still a problem hospitals. This study aimed to identify root causes and implement solutions reduce waiting at type C hospital. applied descriptive approach. The potential were identified using HFMEA (Healthcare Failure Mode Effect Analysis) confirmed through an online survey on 15 staff involved services. Scoring Focus Group Discussion used priority problems solutions. results revealed six causing factors of lengthy pharmacy, which doctor's schedule, absence specific target for each drug preparation stage, changes storage, stock different from planning, incomplete standard operating procedures, one counter prescription collection dispensing. Three implemented days: checking every shift, developing SOP, separating counters implementation showed significant increase percentage compounded drugs, met (≤60 minutes) 26% 43%. was even higher non-compounded (<20), 27% 48%. Drug checking, procedure standardization, separation service are keys reducing time.
